Shaw Grigsby: Like the Super Bowl

Major League Fishing is changing the game with the format. Having in-boat leader boards is going to be huge. The anglers will be forced to make changes immediately based on their rank on the leader board because there might not be a tomorrow. The dynamic is trying to figure it out the first day.
I’m very exciting about the new format, especially the no practice and no limits. The format will not only trash the anglers physically, but it will also drain them mentally. I would compare this to the Super Bowl. It’s fourth down, you’re down by two and you’re getting ready to kick a field goal from the 50-yard line with one second remaining.
Choosing the right strategy will be key. It’s hard to say what the right strategy will be. There will be many at play during the first event.
Because Major League Fishing is more like mainstream sports, bass fishing fans, and possibly sports fans in general, will get to view the sport like never before.
B.A.S.S., FLW and the PAA are basically the same, with respect to tournament format. There is a place for Major League Fishing - there’s nothing like it.
