Located entirely in Chautauqua County, NY, Chautauqua Lake is the largest inland lake in Western New York. The lake has a surface area of 13,000 acres and is about 17 miles long. It is primarily known for recreation, tourism, and of course, fishing.
Chautauqua Lake is a very diverse sport fishery including both smallmouth and largemouth bass. The lake offers exceptional cover for largemouth bass because of the docks and shallow weedy areas.
Not only has Lake Chautauqua been featured on Major League Fishing, but was also mentioned in an episode of "I Love Lucy."
