Jack Link's Titles Up

TULSA, Okla. – Jack Link’s Beef Jerky and its signature Sasquatch brand icon will be leading fixtures at Major League Fishing events for the next three years, both the league and company announced today.

Jack Link’s, the No. 1 U.S. meat snack brand and the fastest-growing meat snack manufacturer worldwide, already served as title sponsor during Major League Fishing’s first event, the Challenge Cup, which is now airing on Outdoor Channel Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET and Saturdays at 4 p.m. ET.

“Major League Fishing is definitely the Wild Side of competitive fishing! Major League Fishing is a partnership of 24 of the world’s most talented, influential professional bass anglers and Outdoor Channel, America’s Leader In Outdoor TV. Major League Fishing produces made-for-television bass fishing events that offer an innovative format that allows competitors to weigh all “score-able bass” they catch and compete with leader boards in their boats.

The companies said today that Jack Link’s Beef Jerky’s sponsorship will continue through at least 2014.

The Challenge Cup took place November 6-11, 2011, on Lake Amistad near Del Rio, Texas. The event debuted Major League Fishing’s innovative format that enables anglers to compete with no limit on the number of legal fish they can catch and weigh. Competitors were barred from utilizing both stored, user-generated GPS waypoints and were allowed no practice time. The anglers also were equipped with real-time leader boards in their boats.

Major League Fishing Commissioner Don Rucks said Jack Link’s Beef Jerky has been tremendously supportive and the league couldn’t be more delighted to welcome Jack Link’s for the coming years.

Jack Link’s joins an impressive list of non-endemic sponsors. Busch Beer, GEICO, Scotts and OPTIMA Batteries have also announced their sponsorship of Major League Fishing.

The Challenge Cup can be seen each week through the end of June on Outdoor Channel. An expanded version of the Challenge Cup can be seen on ADVANCE CAST. ADVANCE CAST is the league’s online Pay-Per-View outlet and offers webisodes that feature an additional hour of coverage and heavier emphasis on in-game angler analysis and on-the-water action.
