Florida pro Keith Carson put his boat and motor to good use in 2024, picking up his first tour-level win as a pro on the Detroit River. But like most of us, Carson grew up walking the banks near his Florida home, spinning rod in hand and some plastic worms in his pocket.
We caught up with Carson for a little how-to on searching for smallmouth from the bank. With just a pack of Berkley worms in his pocket and a single Abu Garcia spinning rod in his hand, Carson pointed out some of his key targets when he’s casting from the bank. Sometimes you catch ’em, sometimes you don’t, but Carson’s tips on scouting and locating good bank-fishing spots will pay off for you or your kids.
