OCALA, Fla. — Check out some of the MLFNOW! live stream highlights for the first Qualifying Day of Kubota Heavy Hitters Presented by Bass Pro Shops.
Terry Scroggins started the day strong, second only to Takahiro Omori at the end of Period 1. But as the day progressed, the Florida angler blew up and topped the field by 27 pounds, 4 ounces over second place with 62-3 on 15 scorable bass. Although Omori placed second for the day with 35 pounds even on eight scoerable bass, he did win the $10,000 big bass of the day with a 10-1 largemouth.
Meanwhile, the race is tight along the Lucas Oil Cut Line with Ott DeFoe the first man in with 18-8 on four scorable bass and Alton Jones Jr. a mere 3 ounces behind him on seven scorable bass. But, considering 10-pounders are lurking below the surface, everyone is well within striking distance when Group A’s second day of qualifying happens on Monday.
Heavy Hitters action continues tomorrow with Group B hitting Orange Lake for their first day of qualifying on the MLFNOW! livestream from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET at MajorLeagueFishing.com, the MLF and MyOutdoorTV (MOTV) apps and the Major League Fishing channel on Rumble.
